An invoice that only tells someone what they owe still leaves them to find your bank details or write a check. When you accept payments on invoices with a payment link, your client sees a Pay now button next to the total and can pay in the same tab where they are already reviewing the work.
The Invoice Generator never touches the money itself. It stores your Stripe link and shows the button; Stripe is the one processing the card, handling the payout to your bank, and keeping the transaction secure. That split keeps your payment setup exactly where you already trust it, with the invoice just pointing the way to it.
How it works
- Create a Stripe payment link. Set this up in your own Stripe account. Stripe is where the money and the card details are handled.
- Paste the link into your profile. A payment link saved in Settings appears on every invoice you send from then on.
- Override it if you need to. A single invoice can carry its own payment link instead of the default one.
- Your client pays. They click Pay now on the invoice, which opens your Stripe page. You mark the invoice as paid yourself once the money is in.
Why put a payment link on the invoice
- Fewer steps for your client. They pay from the same page where they see what they owe, instead of hunting for your bank details.
- You stay in control of the money. Stripe processes the payment directly into your own account, not through ToolsToHelp.Me.
- Set it once. A default link in your profile means you do not add it to every new invoice by hand.
- Clear about who owes what. See invoice payment terms for setting expectations that make a Pay now button more likely to get used quickly.
Setting up your Stripe link
You do not create a Stripe account through the Invoice Generator. Sign up for Stripe separately, generate a payment link there for a fixed amount or a product, and paste that link into your ToolsToHelp.Me profile or a single invoice. From that point on, the Invoice Generator only stores the address and shows the button. It never sees a card number, and it does not take a percentage of what you charge.
Who uses it
A payment link helps any freelancer or small business that wants to get paid faster: designers and photographers billing clients directly, consultants invoicing retainers, contractors collecting a deposit before a job starts, and landscapers billing for seasonal work. If a client is slow to pay even with a link, see what to do when a client is not paying an invoice.

Works with the rest of the Invoice Generator
The Pay now button sits on the same shared link your client uses to view, comment on, approve or sign the invoice. It shows up next to your logo and accent color, and it disappears automatically once an invoice is marked paid or cancelled.
