WEBP to PNG converts WEBP images into PNG, keeping any transparent background intact, for the apps, editors and older software that cannot open WEBP directly. It runs entirely in your browser.
What you need
- One or more WEBP images, up to 100 MB each.
How to convert WEBP to PNG, step by step
- Open WEBP to PNG and select the WEBP images you want to convert.

The WEBP to PNG tool, ready for your files. - Check the file, then convert. There is no quality slider to set, since PNG has no lossy compression to adjust.

A WEBP image added and ready to convert. No quality setting is needed. - Select Convert. The button shows how many images will convert, for example Convert 1 image to PNG.
- Download the result. Each image gets its own Download button, plus a ZIP option for more than one.

The WEBP image is now a PNG, ready to download.
Credits: converting WEBP to PNG in your browser uses 1 credit per image, which your free daily credits cover. You get 10 free credits a day, or 25 with a free account.
Converting several files at once
Add more than one WEBP file and each converts to its own PNG, keeping its own file name with a new extension. Every input file produces its own separate output file; the ZIP button just bundles those files together for a single download, rather than combining them into one document.
Transparency is kept
WEBP files can have a transparent background, the same as PNG. Converting here keeps that transparency, unlike converting to JPG, which fills any transparent area with white. If your WEBP is a logo or icon meant to sit over other content, PNG is the format to convert to.
Tips
- Need a smaller file and do not need transparency? Use WEBP to JPG instead.
- Converting a photo from an iPhone instead? That is usually HEIC, not WEBP; see HEIC to JPG.
- Putting the PNGs into a PDF next? Use Images to PDF once you have converted them.
