Terms of Service
Effective August 12, 2026
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and CreditPath. By creating an account or using CreditPath, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What CreditPath Is (and Is Not)
CreditPath is a free education and self-help tool. It explains how credit reports work and helps you write your own letters to credit bureaus, creditors, and debt collectors.
CreditPath is not a law firm, a financial advisor, or a credit repair service. Nothing on this site is legal advice, financial advice, or credit repair advice. The information here is general education. It may not fit your specific situation. If you need advice about your own case, talk to a licensed attorney or a qualified financial professional.
3. CreditPath Is Not a Credit Repair Organization
You do the work yourself. You generate, review, sign, and mail your own letters. CreditPath never contacts a credit bureau, creditor, or debt collector for you. It never acts on your behalf in any way, and it charges no fees for anything.
Because CreditPath only provides education and self-help tools, and never takes payment or acts for you, it is not a credit repair organization.
4. No Guarantees
CreditPath makes no promises about results. Disputing an item may lead to a correction, or it may not. No one can promise that a dispute succeeds, that an item gets removed, or that your credit score goes up.
Accurate negative information cannot be removed from your credit report by disputing it. If a negative item is correct, complete, and still within the legal reporting period, the bureau can keep reporting it. Goodwill letters and pay-for-delete letters are requests, not legal demands. The recipient can say no.
5. You Are Responsible for Your Letters
You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you put in a letter. CreditPath fills in templates with the information you provide. It cannot check whether that information is true.
Read every letter before you sign it. Make sure every fact in it is correct to the best of your knowledge. Only dispute information you honestly believe is wrong or unverifiable. Once you mail a letter, it is your statement, not CreditPath's.
6. Acceptable Use
Use CreditPath only for lawful purposes and only for your own credit information (or for someone you are legally authorized to act for).
Do not: - Make false statements in letters, or dispute information you know is accurate by claiming it is not - Use the service to harass, defraud, or mislead anyone - Try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service - Impersonate another person
Knowingly sending false statements to a credit bureau, creditor, or debt collector can violate federal and state law. That risk is yours, not CreditPath's.
7. Your Account
Keep your login credentials private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
You can close your account at any time. CreditPath can suspend or close your account at any time, including if you break these Terms or use the service unlawfully. Since the service is free, no refunds apply either way. Anything stored in a closed account may become unavailable, so keep your own copies of letters and documents you care about.
8. Free Service, Provided As Is
CreditPath is free and provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
The service may be down, slow, or unavailable at times. It may contain errors. Data can be lost. Features may change or go away, and the service itself may shut down. Keep your own copies of important letters and records. Do not rely on CreditPath as your only storage.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, CreditPath and the people who build and run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, missed deadlines, or harm to your credit, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service.
Because the service is free, the total liability of CreditPath for all claims is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is zero. Some states do not allow certain limits on liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may change. When they do, the new version gets posted here with an updated effective date. For significant changes, CreditPath tries to give notice, such as a message in the app. If you keep using CreditPath after a change takes effect, that means you accept the new Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and close your account.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute over these Terms or the service must be brought in the courts of Michigan, unless the law says otherwise.
