Pay for Delete
What it means
A negotiation tactic: you offer to pay a collection in full or for a settled amount. In return, the collection agency removes the account from your credit report. The law does not guarantee it, and collectors do not have to agree. Always get any pay-for-delete agreement in writing before you send payment.
