Debt Management Plan (DMP)
What it means
A structured repayment program run through nonprofit credit counseling agencies. You make one monthly payment to the agency, and it pays your creditors under negotiated terms (often lower interest rates). DMPs usually take 3-5 years, and your credit report shows that you are enrolled in a repayment plan.
